The original building dates from the mid-twelfth century or early thirteenth century and has had centuries of additions, repairs and restorations in various architectural styles. More detail about this impressive building can be found on the Pedrógão Grande Municipal website.

The Church of Mercy dates back to 1470 and now houses a museum displaying altarpieces, an ancient coffin, paintings and a great storage chest.

The Chapel of S. Sebastião dates from the 18th century and has a golden altar from the 16th century, a sculpture of S. Sebastião, a bell tower and baroque door.

Pedro Cruz Museum houses a collection of oil paintings, charcoal drawings and notes of the painter Pedro Cruz (1888 - 1980). José Pedro Cruz was born in Lisbon and became a pupil of José Malhoa whose own works may be seen at Casulo de Malhoa in nearby Figueiró dos Vinhos.
Casa Museu Comendador Manuel Nunes Corrêa has a collection of paintings and personal effects such as coins, butterfly collections and musical instruments, which once belonged to the Commander Manuel Nunes Corrêa and his wife and were part of his legacy to Pedrógão Grande.
The Clock Tower / Torre do Relógio can be found in the historic centre of Pedrogão Grande. It is the highest point of Pedrogão Grande at 403 metres
above sea level and is part of the architectural heritage of the region. The original building no longer exists and the tower there now was built in 1872.
